Story:  The North Wind and the Sun had a quarrel about which of them was  stronger. While they were disputing, a Traveler passed along the trail wrapped in a cloak.
“Let us agree,” said the Wind, “that he who is the stronger can strip that Traveler of his cloak.”
“Very well,” said the Sun.
With the first gust of wind the cloak whipped about the Traveler’s body. But he immediately wrapped it closely around him, and the harder the Wind blew, the tighter he held it to him. The North Wind tore angrily at the cloak, but all his efforts were in vain.

Then the Sun began to shine. As his gentle rays grew warmer and warmer,  the man took off his cloak. (Aesop’s Fable: The North Wind & the Sun)

JP Whiting (0 reviews)

JP Whiting is a emerging abstract artist based in Calgary, Alberta. She uses a concoction of glycol ether, isopropyl alcohol and alcohol ink as her medium. Her inks are poured on solid art boards and controlled by a heat gun and/or gravity by tilting the board. JP Whiting's method is as unique as it is vibrant. "When left in the hands of gravity and chemical reaction, ink can perform an incredibly beautiful dance. For me, this capture parallels a photo of a galaxy, or a cut geode, maybe a view of riverbanks or coral reefs from outer space. There is a familiarity that even in my studio, the same universal laws and visual language are at play."
